Our Apprenticeship is a 5-year program, consisting of practical classroom training combined with 10,000 hours of on the job training.

Apprentices attend school 2 evenings a week, for 3 hours an evening, learning every aspect of the Sheet Metal and HVAC industry.

The Sheet Metal JATC of Rochester of Local #46, Rochester, New York, is continuously accepting apprenticeship applications. In order to fully complete your application process into the Sheet Metal JATC of Rochester Apprenticeship Program, your High School Transcript or G.E.D. Certificate must be submitted. This documentation is submitted by:

– Hand delivered in a sealed and stamped envelope at the following address: 244 Paul Road Rochester, NY 14624

Prior to acceptance into the Sheet Metal JATC Apprenticeship Program you will be required to provide a copy of:

– Your valid NYS Driver’s License

– Original Birth Certificate or Social Security Card

*Failure to provide required documentation will result in applicant being ineligible for the apprenticeship program.

Qualifications

The committee requires that applicants have the following minimum qualifications:

  1. Be at least 18 years old.
  2. Be a high school graduate or equivalent as determined by local educational authorities.
  3. Be physically able to perform the work required as determined by an affidavit for physical performance for the sheet metal trade.
  4. Have a valid drivers license.
  5. Have a reliable means of transportation to and from worksites and related instructional classes.
  6. Submit to drug screening at the committee’s expense, if selected for the program.
